Young Family Case Study
A couple were referred to us after we had successfully assisted one of their Mum and Dads.
They were looking for their first property purchase. While they had a level of protection in place through one of their employers, Mr was self-employed with no protection. It was at this point we introduced the concept of not only buying the house, but also being able to keep it should the worst happen to either of them. Being parents to a 2 year old also made this vitally important.
We collated their employment and income information and arranged initial approval for a mortgage, giving them the confidence to begin viewing properties in the knowledge that mortgage finance was available to them. We also introduced them to a solicitor to carry out the conveyancing work and to arrange to submit a legal offer when they found a suitable property.
When the couple started viewing properties, we were happy to cast our eye over home reports, providing guidance and support to make sure there were no “hidden problems”. The clients then found a property they loved and were delighted with the mortgage we arranged.
When the mortgage figure was agreed, we carried out a full review of their protection cover and needs, and arranged a package ensuring the mortgage, the family and their lifestyle were protected should the worst happen. This gave the family security in knowing they were covered if one of them passed away or suffered serious ill health.
The cover was in place in time for their solicitor to sign missives, and the mortgage completed with the clients eager to show their young son his new bedroom!
