How did you learn about McCreas?
I was dealing with a team of professional recruitment consultants and they recommended McCreas to me as they thought we would be a good fit for each other. I then checked online to find out more and was very impressed by the company’s reputation, ethos and professionalism.
Life before McCreas?
Having come to the realisation that a career as a rock drummer was unlikely, I began working in Financial Services at the age of twenty five. I quickly achieved the necessary qualifications and then settled into a firm that dealt primarily with teachers and lecturers, where I spent over twenty years and worked my way up through the company. I also began my journey toward Chartered Financial Planner status and am almost there with only one exam to go!
With the country on lockdown, it has been an unusual process but again, the professionalism of the company has shone through. Video calls have become the norm and everyone I have spoken to has been very positive and welcoming.
What are you most looking forward to getting ‘stuck into’?
Meeting people and demonstrating the value that sound financial advice can add is the best part of the job and I am looking forward to building some long term relationships with clients.
Outside the office?
Music and movies are my passion away from work and I play the drums and guitar.
I have dual nationality (British/Canadian) and was born in Toronto. I am 6’7” tall, so I’m hard to miss in a crowd and I have two kids, two dogs, two cats and a rabbit.
