Charity on the Menu at Ayr Long Lunch

McCreas was proud to recently support two outstanding local charities in Ayrshire when we were invited to provide donations for the Ayr Community Rugby Trust. Our purchase of a table for the Long Lunch at Ayr Racecourse, coupled with the auction of a Glasgow Warriors’ shirt and match day hospitality meant we were able to help raise £1,200 towards the day’s grand total of £40,000.

The table was purchased by McCreas and donated to Marr RFC, a South Ayrshire rugby club who are the newly promoted team in the Scottish Premiership. Marr RFC have been playing their home games in Troon for almost 25 years and will now compete with the very best club sides in Scottish Rugby. Their last season saw the 1st XV win the National League Division 1 following a run of 21 consecutive victories. With over 500 passionate fans attending their home games, we are hoping that the coming season in the top tier will prove to be a great success.

The Ayr Community Rugby Trust continuously works to introduce young people to rugby in South Ayrshire and encourages their development as they grow older. A share of the total amount raised from the Long Lunch will go towards advancing the sport in the area, through actions such as supplying training sessions and improving facilities.

You can find out more about how to get involved with the Ayr Community Rugby Trust by contacting Neil Howie by email or by calling 07721 469966.
