George Horne Wins His Fourth McCrea Financial Services Player of the Season Award!
Glasgow Warriors scrum-half George Horne has been voted as the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Season for 2024/25, the latest accolade in a landmark season for the club centurion.
The 29-year-old’s form throughout the campaign to date saw him earn 64% of the public vote, beating Zander Fagerson and Sione Tuipulotu into second and third place respectively.
It is the fourth time that Horne has taken home the award, following previous successes in 2018, 2020 and 2023.
Horne has enjoyed a history-making campaign to date, most notably overtaking DTH van der Merwe by scoring his 55th try in Glasgow Warriors colours against the Emirates Lions last month to become the club’s all-time leading try-scorer.
Five of those tries came in this season’s Investec Champions Cup – a feat that also saw Horne become the club’s top try-scorer in European competition - whilst his conversion of Jamie Dobie’s try against the Vodacom Bulls saw Horne move past the 500-point milestone for the Warriors.
