McCrea Participating in Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas Campaign!

Imaging waking up as a child on Christmas Day to no toys, gifts or a hot meal.

Every child deserves to experience the feeling of waking up on Christmas day excited to open up a present, no matter what their circumstances are. Now imagine that your generosity has turned a sad face into a bright, happy, excited child on Christmas morning!

At McCrea, as well as supporting our nominated charity partners - the Emma Cameron Foundation and Glasgow Care Foundation – this Christmas the team here are participating in ‘Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas’ on their 10th year anniversary, to help bring the magic of Christmas to a local child in need this year.

The sad reality is that 1 in 3 children in Glasgow, and 1 in 5 children in Scotland live in poverty, with many more being affected by hardship this year. That figure is set to rise over the coming years with a massive increase forecasted in child poverty. Last year ‘Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas’ provided gifts to over 19,872 referred children, with that number set to grow this year.

If you are in the fortunate position to be able to support those less fortunate, we would be delighted if you would join us in donating to such a great and worthy cause.

There are two options for donating to help a child experience a magical Christmas this year; the first is becoming a ‘Secret Santa’ for a child by pledging the donation of a gift made with love. Instructions on how to do this can be found on the ‘How to Donate’ section of their website page here. Please ensure you do not pledge a donation of a gift if you can’t guarantee you will deliver the gift to the charity, to ensure no child goes without a present this year.

The second donation option is by making a cash donation on their Just Giving Page here. The cash donations are used by the charities to purchase gifts to fill the shortfalls in the hope that all children can get their very own Secret Santa this year.

Thank you in advance from ourselves, Cultivating Mindfulness who are behind the ‘Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas’ campaign, and from the children who will be waking up with a smile on their face this Christmas due to your generosity.
