Partick Thistle April 2025 McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month Nominees Revealed!
April represented a mixed month for Partick Thistle with disappointment at the start of the month and delirium at the end.
Following an undefeated March, the Jags suffered back-to-back defeats to Airdrieonians and Hamilton but bounced back impressively with a draw against Dunfermline and a dramatic last-gasp win over league leaders Falkirk.
The win over the Bairns means the Maryhill men head into the final day of the league season in charge of their own destiny but before that showdown with Livingston it’s time for you to pick your McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month for April!
Lee Ashcroft
Thistle’s number 23 played a key role in all four points that the team were able to pick up during April with Ashcroft’s gritty defending particularly important to their efforts to survive with ten men against Falkirk last Friday night. Huge blocks on the half hour and 90-minute marks against the Bairns were perfect embodiments of his commitment to the defensive cause, ultimately contributing to a huge win in Maryhill.
Robbie Crawford
The only Thistle midfielder to start all four games during the month of April, Robbie Crawford produced his best performance of the month when Thistle’s backs were against the wall against Falkirk. Making four clearances and winning the ball four times in the opposition half against the table toppers, Crawford’s importance to the organisation of the team is also backed up by the long-term numbers with just 21 goals conceded in the 27 league games he’s started this term.
Luke McBeth
Featuring as part of a back three, back four and in midfield, the versatility of Luke McBeth has been a useful asset for Brian Graham and Mark Wilson recently. The former Glenafton man played every minute of April’s quartet of games and was a colossus at the back as he won nearly 80% of his aerial duels including an impressive 6/6 in the goalless draw against Dunfermline.
Dan O’Reilly
Crowned as the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Year just over a fortnight ago, Dan O’Reilly has continued to provide a steady flow of reliable performances on the park for Thistle. Filling in at left wing-back at times, Dan has helped the Jags end the month on a much-improved defensive footing but his most significant contribution came at the top end of the pitch because it was his knockdown that set up Terry Ablade for the late, late winner against Falkirk last time out.
So, those are your nominees for the April McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award. Voting is now open and will close on Wednesday at 12pm.
