Partick Thistle March 2024 Player of the Month Nominees Revealed

Partick Thistle turned a daunting March schedule into their most fruitful month of the season so far points-wise to help them consolidate their position in the promotion play-offs.

The month started with draws against Dundee United and Queen’s Park before the Maryhill men suffered a narrow home defeat to Raith Rovers, however, they responded excellently by beating Morton, Arbroath and Inverness, keeping clean sheets against the latter two.

Now, it’s time to decide which player was our March standout by voting for your McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month:

Luke McBeth

Having won the McCrea Financial Services February Player of the Month award, Luke McBeth continued his impressive form into March. Playing the first three games in midfield, Luke really shone after moving back into central defence for the game against Morton at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill. Displaying dominance in the air and calmness on the ball, he was part of a backline which conceded just once in three games and recorded back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since October.

Harry Milne

Playing every minute of Thistle’s six March games, Harry Milne has been a key contributor to the Jags improved defensive numbers. Putting in accomplished performances in his natural left-back role for the most part, Milne also had to fill in at centre-half for Thistle’s draw with Queen’s Park and made a key block to prevent the Spiders going 3-0 up before the Maryhill men made a roaring comeback to claim a point.

Aaron Muirhead

No Thistle player has played more minutes this season than vice-captain Aaron Muirhead and March may well have been the 33-year-old’s best month of the campaign thus far. Muirhead started all six games and had four different central defensive partners, eventually forming a formidable pairing with Luke McBeth which led to consecutive clean sheets in the games against Arbroath and Inverness.

Scott Robinson

Thistle’s number 17 entered March having only started four league matches for Partick Thistle but he has come out the other end having started all six matches during the month including four 90 minute performances. While getting more consistent minutes on the pitch he’s shown what he’s capable of, scoring crucial winners against Morton and Inverness at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill. On top of that, his relentless work rate and battling qualities have made him a key part of the team’s improvement out of possession.
