Partick Thistle Nominees for March Player of the Month Revealed

It’s been another busy month for Kris Doolan’s Partick Thistle. The month started positively for the Jags as they matched their return to home soil by keeping the all important three points in Maryhill, before going on to demonstrate their defensive strengths in holding consecutive clean sheets both home and away in fixtures against Morton and Dundee.

Now, it’s time to pick the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month for March from the following four nominees:

Stuart Bannigan

Partick Thistle’s number eight featured in all four of the Jags’ league endeavours for the month. Offering his services across the pitch both attackingly and defensively from the heart of the midfield, Bannigan found himself to be proven as the vital ever-present figure that was required for a consistent Thistle side throughout March.

David Mitchell

Brought in from the first fixture of the month, David Mitchell has proven to be the key component in Thistle conceding just once in the last four fixtures. His excellent double save in Thistle’s victory against Raith Rovers which saw his diving lunge preventing the Raith penalty only to be topped by his reactive stop from the ensuing rebound just seconds later. Matched further with back-to-back clean sheets against both Morton and Dundee, concluding a successful month in the Jags net.

March has shown to be a positive month for Tiffoney. His highlight fixture came from Thistle’s home tie against Raith Rovers where he proved the catalyst in keeping the league points at Firhill.
