Yorkhill Childrens Charity to Benefit from McCreas Staff Endeavours

From Sky Dives to a Half Marathon, the summer months see McCreas Staff Endeavour to Raise funds for Yorkhill Children's Charity

It is with some amount of trepidation three of the staff get their training underway for the events they have selected to complete on behalf of Yorkhill between now and September.

First up (no pun intended) is a Sky Dive by our managing Director Douglas McCrea which takes place on Saturday 6th June near St Andrews.

Choosing to do a freefall parachute jump from 10,000 feet might not have been the best idea for someone who is scared of heights, however for Douglas this is all the more reason to do so " I'm still questioning quite how I come to find myself in this position, however together with a few of my mates I have been fortunate, with everyone's support to raise tens of thousands of pounds for a number of wonderful charities over the years and want to continue to do so”.

The very next week sees Douglas with his feet firmly back on the ground and walking 81 miles along the Speyside way because just doing a parachute jump really isn't enough on its own we’re told!
For Jonathan Campbell, who joined McCrea’s’ last year, it's all about teamwork and competition. As the rest of the office look on questioningly, the idea of mud, ice-cold lochs and numerous obstacles across a 10-mile route seem like a good idea to Jonathan.

Having already completed the Titan Crane Abseil, also successfully managed by Yvonne Stewart and John Elliot at McCrea’s, we've just had his place on the sky dive on 6th June for Yorkhill confirmed too!
Finally, and not to be left out, Elaine Hamilton has committed to running in two events later in the summer. With a trip to Tiree last year coinciding with the Tiree Ultra marathon, it seemed like a great idea for Elaine and her friends to commit to the organisers that they would definitely get involved ' next year'. Well next year is upon us and the entries are now in for what should be a beautiful run around the island of Tiree in early September. As part of a relay team, Elaine will run 9 miles which should be great preparation for the Great North Run (half Marathon) the very next weekend for which she has also managed to secure a spot!

We’re doing everything we can to raise awareness of our plans and are very grateful for the support from friends, family, colleagues and clients.
