Steven Lawless has won the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award for March.

Steven has been in fine form this season and scooped his first award of the season winning more than 200 votes from Jags supporters.

The attacker has been building his own goal of the season competition and added another two candidates in March, with the opener against Aberdeen proving particularly memorable. With the side finishing the season in the bottom half of the league, Lawless will be keen to add more memorable strikes to the 25 goals he has already scored in the red and yellow for Thistle since joining in the summer of 2012.

Steven is on the verge of making his 150^th Jags appearance and will hope to reach the landmark in the coming games.

On receiving his trophy Steven said: “It’s great to receive an award like this as the fact the fans are voting for me shows I’m doing something right on the park. I’ve been lucky enough to win a couple of these awards in my time with Thistle and it’s great to get another one.

“We’re all disappointed to have lost out on a top six place, especially when we got so close but we are all ready to go out and get as many points as we can in the last five games of the season. We want to beat last season’s points haul and finish 7^th as it would show progression from last year.”
