McCreas organised for ten, 10 year olds to meet Glasgow Warriors and Scotland Number Ten, stand-off Finn Russell yesterday.

With an opportunity, as part of our sponsorship, for player appearances we decided to see whether we find ten, 10 year olds who might be interested in joining Finn for a bit of a kick-about recently.  Not surprisingly, we were inundated with entries to our competition!

Yesterday, Monday 18th December, our ten winners and their friends and family came along to Scotstoun to enjoy a training session with Finn and one of the community coaches at Glasgow Warriors under the floodlights on the main pitch before heading back inside to enjoy some Christmas goodies and have their chance to ask Finn some questions. 

The children had really thought about their questions helping us all gain some entertaining insight on everything from 'Who is your favourite scrum half (apart from Ali Price) to play alongside'?  'What was your best Christmas present ever?  'How long do you train for each week? and even 'If you could go back to your ten year old self, what would you do differently?  (We'll pop some answers on social media for you)!

After the event Warriors TV spoke to Finn and he said “It was a lot of fun, and some of the kids were teaching me a thing or two out there. I saw a few boys and girls that will be worth keeping an eye on over the coming years, I think the future of Glasgow Warriors is in safe hands.”

With training done, questions asked, Christmas cupcakes and mince pies enjoyed, there was still time for lots of photos and a signing session with Finn before the evening came to an end and our winners left with a Christmas goodie bag and plenty to tell their friends about.
