Thistle February Player of the Month Award goes to Booth

Callum Booth has been named McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month for February.

Callum has earned a number of nominations this season and won a tight battle edging out his fellow competitors with almost 50% of the vote.

Callum is still in contention for having an ever present season, having played every single minute of the campaign so far. The left back has continued to support his team-mates with superb overlapping runs as he looked to bag his first Jags goal. He did just that at Fir Park with a superb effort from distance which caught Motherwell goalkeeper Connor Ripley off guard, although he’ll be disappointed his maiden strike counted for nothing more than a consolation.

Booth’s form this month has been excellent and is more than deserving of his award.

On receiving his trophy in front of the Jackie Husband Stand at last night’s game, Callum said: “It’s a real honour to receive this award and the fact it is voted for by fans makes it even more special. I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me as it really means a lot.

“This is a very important period for us and could see us really kick on and achieve something special. We all need to be on our game and we will do everything we can to make sure we take as many points as possible in the games between now and the split.”

Callum was presented with his award by McCreas competition winner, Andrew Henderson, before kick off in last night’s game at home to Aberdeen.
